This was a project dreamed up by Clive Whitburn in the time of pandemic. It started as an idea to compose a piece of music to accompany Kitty O’Meara’s piece of writing of the same name. As of today this collaborative artwork has been viewed over 1400 times.
And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.
Kitty O’Meara 2020
As a filmmaker and video editor this project allowed me to work with Clive Whitburn and talented artists from all over the world. Lockdown meant we had no choice but to find ways of collaborating online. I think this will have a significant effect on how I work in the future.
That and the fact that I could work with my partner, Stephanie Grainger, whose drawings give me such a fantastic material to work with, made this project a pleasure.
I really enjoyed working on this project. When I started it I had no idea how it would grow and grow. I was absolutely delighted when Kitty gave me permission to set her words to music and I really wanted to do the words justice.
Then, after I’d composed the music I got really excited when The New Network Singers started sending me their recordings of the various parts. As I edited them together and music gradually came to life and began to believe were we’re making something people might like and relate to.
Then, when Steph and Ray started showing me their art work, wow! Just wow! I couldn’t believe how this idea was taking off. They were adding their own visual narrative in such a profound and moving way. Now I dared to believe.
And now, the video has had just under 1500 viewings in three weeks. Thats fabulous. Thank you everyone who has watched and listened. And thank you everyone who has contacted us with such lovely feedback and comments.
Love this film-a complete work of art on every level.
Brilliant artwork, music and the film really draws you in.

Thank you Beverley!
This is such a beautiful, moving piece. I love that it is so collaborative. It gives it a feeling of universality. I have watched it 3 times now. It never fails to make me cry. Thank you to all, I am sharing it like mad.
Thank you so much Beverly, so glad you like it.
Thanks so much Beverly. Really kind of you to share it!
It says it all as do Kitty O’Meara’s descriptive words. Such a moving tribute portraying our Coronavirus stricken lives. I love the soulful, thoughtful paintings.
Thanks so much Nicky. Much appreciated. I was so delighted and honoured when Kitty gave me permission to set her words. I too love the art work too by Stephanie and Ray.
