Using the sound of the mechanism as an audio track adds to the hypnotic feel. Very atmospheric piece.
I was intending to use a recording of the audio but the cars on the nearby main road always overwhelmed it, even at 5:30 in the morning! So, this sound track is entirely fictitious. Made up of various unrelated sounds.

Absolutely extraordinary, Ray – a real labour of love and art. Having walked over there, you’ve not only captured the wind pump itself but also the beautiful bleakness and isolation of the landscape. The man who harnessed the wind machine!
